Abstract
August 10th, 2012, at a high school in suburban Milwaukee, thousands of mourners gathered to pay their final respects to the six victims of the August 5th mass shooting at the Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. The service included prayers, hymns, and speakers including representatives of the victims' families and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
This presentation and the accompanying article include a short overview of the service and a discussion of the Sikh community, traditions, and challenges in an interview with Simran Jeet Singh.
