Abstract
Although the fundamental questions regarding free speech have changed little since the advent of social media, these new ways of connecting and communicating have left judges and legal scholars questioning the shifting boundaries of speech in social digital spaces. To better understand how laws regarding free speech are evolving to address this new medium, this chapter examines three areas of social media law where the boundaries remain contested ground: access, content, and surveillance.
