Abstract
This chapter addressed the use of social media platforms such as Weibo and WeChat by journalists at local newspapers in the Southwest Chinese metropolis of Kunming. The accounts of activities and conversations in newsrooms and quotes from journalists presented in this chapter are from a 14-week field study conducted from July to October 2011 at four local metro newspapers (dushi bao), similar to tabloids, in Kunming.
