Abstract
“A Pleasure to Burn”: Introduction to IB Language and Literature through Fahrenheit 451 serves to introduce International Baccalaureate DP year one students to the initial key skills needed to succeed in the course. The students participating in this unit are expected to have read Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 over the summer in order to get the most out of their time in school. This unit focuses on introducing students to the main aspects of text analysis according to the IB expectations. This unit also focuses on building academic writing practices, discussion practices, and creativity.
