Abstract

An essay and collection of poetry that frame trauma as a pathology. The process of poetics, in the articulation of trauma, offers a location of communion between image and experience to access the consolatory nature of grief; because contemporary poetry, as an amorphous container of accumulation and expression, constructs a narrative through metaphors that overrides the elusive correlation between the relieved experiences in PTSD and the point of traumatic origin.
