Abstract
Aligned for the 2018 redesign of the AP United States Government and Politics course, this unit covers the first half of 'Big Idea #1'. It discusses the way in which Hobbes and Locke are influences on the new United States Constitution, the reasons for the failure of the Articles of Confederation, and how the new Constitution is the result of compromise between Federalists and Anti-Federalists. It also outlines all the articles, and discusses the Electoral College, Bill of Rights, and amendment process.
