Abstract
Forced sterilization is a state-specific issue in the United States. In the state of Texas, this narrative exists over a period of 150 years and involves several major figures in Texas history. This historic narrative primarily encompasses introduced, but failed, legislation, in addition to bureaucratic documents, and prison medicine. Furthermore, this specific historical narrative demonstrates a manifestation of Foucauldian biopower and the controlling aspects of bureaucracy.
